Parque Nacional Chirripó
Location: On the Talamanca Mountain Range, North-West of San Isidro de El General.
Area information: Created on August 19, 1975. One of the more interesting geomorphological discoveries on Chirripo has been about glacial shapes, such as U-shaped valleys, glacial terraces, and lakes that witness the passing of large ice blocks about 2 or 3 Km long, about 25,000 years ago. The park contains the country's tallest mountain, Chirripó, at 3,820 m.
